I have a new craft project. I am knitting a hat for Jacob. I bought my pattern and yarn yesterday and have already knit (and then unraveled) twenty rows.
Aside from making a mistake I could not fix twenty rows in - ugh! - this is the perfect project because in addition to being adorable, it is also knit on straight needles. And although my Aunt assures me knitting on the round is easy, I am not completely convinced.
The pattern happens to be all in French. A hazard of living in France, I guess. And I now know that tricoter means to knit, point jersey is stocking stitch and aiguilles are needles. I think that is all I need to know. The rest will hopefully fall into place.
